The city of Sarajevo is considered as one of the most important cities in the Balkans and has had a long and rich history ever since it was founded by the Ottomans in the15th century.
It was in Sarajevo where the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, which sparked World War I... and more recently, where the 1984 Winter Olympics were held. Don't miss out on the opportunity to walk through the labyrinth of narrow streets, mosques, restaurants and small shops in which skilled craftsmen create items of bronze, leather, gold and silver. Itinerary
The tour starts from Medjugorje around 8:00 - 8:30 AM
We start from agreed pick up point and set out our journey to discover Bosnia&Herzegovina whit your private driver.
Just outside of Medjugorje we will pass next to the unique "Stone vineyards" where we will make short stop so you can enjoy view of scenic Neretva river valley and take some photos so we can show off to our friends when we comeback.
After break we will join main regional road and follow Neretva river passing by city of Mostar, economic and cultural center of Herzegovina region, also known by UNESCO listed The Old bridge tourist attraction.
Driving further north we will pass Jablanica and Konjic enjoying picturesque view from our air-conditioned minivan. In Jablanica we will make our 2nd short break for refreshment and toilet break. It was at Jablanica that Tito and the partisans, burdened with 4,000 wounded others, won the unlikely Battle of the Neretva during World War II. After Jablanica, the Jablanicko Lake system begins. The lake has some of the best fishing in the country as proved by the locals standing on the side of the road selling their 'catches of the day' - large carp, trout, bass and other fish.
After roughly 2 hours driver we will arrive to Sarajevo, capitol of Bosnia&Hezegovina. Your driver will follow you to the Bascarsija - Old city part and will point you in the right direction for the must see things.
You will also make agreement whit driver what time you should return to the meeting point.
Return to Medjugorje in the early evening, and finish right front of the St James church.
